Still, at least it was put to good use during the war. But I'm sorry, a woman ran back to London because of 'lack of shops'?? It's Dartmoor (emphasis the word 'MOOR') lol.

But I love Dartmoor. My parents live in Devon and every time we visit we have to include a drive through it. I've never run into this castle before though. I did, however, find a Fairy Garden. I'm put in mind of Luke's Gospel:

And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry."' 20"But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?' 21"So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

But then again there is the other old adage that it is better to journey hopefully than to arrive.Mike Keytonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15116528233058221536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644036152805047632.post-15058622213338741392014-12-19T14:56:04.574-08:002014-12-19T14:56:04.574-08:00I can't even imagine having that kind of money...I can't even imagine having that kind of money.

I'm sorry he didn't get to enjoy his home more, though I doubt he suffered much in lesser accommodations.
