Now it's just an empty building with a "For Lease" sign that's been there for three years!Stephanie Farishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10461865229341760836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644036152805047632.post-13720865768041710292016-10-24T17:43:29.475-07:002016-10-24T17:43:29.475-07:00We have a grand old building here that started as ...We have a grand old building here that started as a theater (legitimate theater), slid into vaudeville and burlesque, became a movie theater, went out of business, and was restored and re-opened as the home of our local philharmonic orchestra and choirs, and our opera and ballet companies. It was originally named The Victoria, changed to The Victory during WWII but is now The Victoria again. In the summer they also show classic films. It's one of my favorite places.LD Mastersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01202135756299574972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644036152805047632.post-81688948723846646002016-10-21T23:35:21.800-07:002016-10-21T23:35:21.800-07:00I must look up the Biograph! The nearest equivalent is/was el siecos, a vibrant and nicely seedy nightclub in Newport where kurt Cobain proposed to Courtney Love 😀Mike Keytonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15116528233058221536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1644036152805047632.post-40731681267659616562016-10-21T11:00:03.360-07:002016-10-21T11:00:03.360-07:00The theaters I went to as a child were like this t...The theaters I went to as a child were like this too. Eventually they fell into disrepair and abandon. A few got a facelift but it's never really the same, is it?

We also went to the Biograph, not as fancy, but it's where John Dillinger, gangster, met his end.Maria Zanninihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01604862636922299273noreply@blogger.com
