What a spread! I'm especially tempted by those mushrooms.

What's a chiplolata?

It all looks so yummy!

Fancy! :)

I want to eat all of this

Yummy! Yes, what is a chiplotata?

Maria, those mushrooms are Yorkshire puddings, but now you've made me discontent that I didn't have mushrooms as well. Next year perhaps. Chipolata is a baby sausage or cocktail sausage. When wrapped in bacon they're called pigs in blankets.

Angela -Stacey, it was quite tasty but the 'fancy' bit lasted less than a minute. And I forgot the wine. The wine was great!

Sarah thank you. I look at it now and groan. I'm sated. Maybe in a weeks time my appetite will return 😄

Sadly, we did not get any dessert. Your pudding and brandy cream sound lovely! :)

That's Yorkshire pudding?! I had no idea that's what it looked like.

You realize you'll have to cook at least one meal if you come to visit us. :)

Maria, it would be a pleasure, but I'm telling you, I think you're every bit as good a cook as I am - maybe better.

Diane, it was lovely but put you into a deep sleep afterwards.

And Maria, I've just been told my comment sounded patronising which was far from my intent. I should of course have said 'probably better' I'm a very lazy cook who cuts too many corners. Now, if you ever came across my very good friend Mike Adams who cooked for the Rothschilds and the Duke of Blenheim, there is a cook! Funny we started off at the very same catering college all those years ago.

WOW! That table setting looks delicious. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season and I wish you a great year. I haven't been blogging because I am on vacation. I hope I get the time and energy to blog a bit more in 2015 ;-)

Viewing this post is definitely at odds with my New Year's resolution to lose weight.

Claudia, thank you. And if I had a choice between blogging and a vacation, I know what I'd choose. Good luck for 2015

Linda, it's too late for me. I'm 10lb over and as a result am walking everywhere more briskly :)
